Alan J. Kaplan




Alan J. Kaplan is the Founder and CEO of Kaplan Partners, a retained executive search and talent advisory firm headquartered in Philadelphia. Kaplan Partners works with Boards, investors and CEOs to help growing companies succeed by providing advice on the identification and assessment of new leaders, Directors and senior executives. The firm focuses its practice primarily on working with banks and financial services firms, private investor owned businesses, and high growth companies in the technology sector. The firm also advises clients on the dynamics of CEO succession, and provides Management Assessment services for clients to aid in succession planning and talent development. Since entering the executive search industry in 1987, Alan has led over sixty searches for Presidents/Chief Executive Officers of both public and private organizations.

Alan began his career in corporate banking, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Penn State University, and an MBA in Finance from Temple University. He is the host of the KYW Career Report, a weekly radio business commentary on leadership and career management. Alan writes a monthly column, Talent Matters, for SmartCEO Magazine, and has been a guest columnist for numerous publications. He is a frequent speaker to corporations, industry groups and academic institutions.

Alan currently serves on the global Board of Directors of the Association of Executive Search Consultants, the industry’s leading advocacy and education organization. Alan also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Temple University Fox School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board, and the Board of Advisors of Penn Liberty Bank.
